The professor has a unique relationship with students: the professor sees and speaks with his or her students every week, if not every day. The students on campus are their students, and it is the professor who has direct contact and influence with them.
Designing a program, being confident someone will be waiting for you and your students upon arriving abroad, securing clean and professional buildings to teach in, homestays and apartments in which to house students, academic and cultural excursions relevant to your curriculum, are all necessary parts to a study abroad trip. Between preparing lectures, grading tests and getting published, time and country-specific logistical planning is not on your side.
