Buenos Aires: Spring 2013
A Day in the Life in Buenos Aires
Wake up. Spanish class 9:30 a.m. means eat a quick medialuna and drink cafe con leche. Bus 64 to class. Engaging professor. Tasty empanadas! Culture and business course in English, then study time. Dinner with Ramon and Marta, host parents. Delicious beef, fresh salad. Meet up with amigos and dance at a boliche. It’s Friday. 2 a.m. Where does the energy come from!
Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, is the second-largest city in South America, with a population of nearly 3 million. Sometimes it can feel like they’re all in your subway car, but we promise they’re not (hopefully)!
There is something for all types of travelers in Buenos Aires. If you like an afternoon of contemporary art museums and leisure strolls down cobblestone streets, do it in Buenos Aires. Follow up with a night of tango dancing and a shot of rich, smooth espresso at 3 a.m. to keep you up with your lovely porteño date. Or if you’re a fast-pace explorer, aim for morning banter of politics with the newspaper kiosko man. Follow up with hours of parilla BBQ cooking with friends, boliche dancing at night, and a sunrise view from the ornate steps of the University of Buenos Aires’ law school. Find your part of Buenos Aires!
