Academic Credit

If you’re taking the challenge of going abroad, don’t you want your work to count? Keep in mind is that everything is negotiable; you just have to know who to negotiate with. And of course, each college in the United States varies in steps to secure credit transfer of internship work from abroad. The below is meant as a guide only. Contact your study abroad office and respective department to find out what you need to do.

1. Secure internship through Panrimo. Communicate with your Panrimo representative so he/she can offer you a challenging yet rewarding work experience abroad.

2. After you agree to participate in your Panrimo internship, Panrimo will send you the internship details (what is expected of you, work environment, contact hours per term, etc.).

3. Go to your school’s advisors and/or professors related to the internship subject and secure approval of the the internship (you may have to do this via your study abroad office). This is crucial to guarantee credit transfer. Be sure to ask how many credits the advisor thinks will transfer onto your transcript.

4. Attend any mandatory meetings your study abroad office requires. That’s it! You’re now set to receive credit for your work overseas and to experience a Panrimo program. Make sure to do well in your internship abroad and do what your home university advisors ask of you while overseas.

5. A quick reminder: When abroad, save all your internship work, writings, research. It’s proof you worked while abroad.
