Travel Documents
In most countries, students are required to carry and I.D. on them at all times. It’s also smart to carry a copy of your passport with you (though we strongly advise students not to carry their actual passport with them).
Passport
U.S. citizens need a valid passport to travel abroad. You should apply for a passport well in advance to avoid any conflict that may delay your departure. It is also required that your passport be valid through at least six months beyond the end of the program.
Visa
A visa is a stamp or attachment in your passport that allows you to enter a specific country for a certain period of time. It may be necessary to obtain a visa to study abroad depending on the country and the proposed length of stay. Panrimo will notify you if a visa is required for you specific program.
Among standard items usually required in the visa application are:
1. A current, valid passport 180 days beyond the end of the program date
2. Visa application form
3. Passport photographs
4. A visa application fee
5. A letter of acceptance from the host institution or program sponsor
6. Sometimes you may also be required to provide evidence of financial support during the period of time you will be studying abroad and proof of medical insurance.
