Health & Safety
According to the U.S. Department of State, when you travel abroad odds are in your favor that you’ll have a safe and incident-free trip. Happily, most problems can be solved over the telephone or by a visit to the U.S. embassy or consulate. Also, your Panrimo coordinator living in the country you’re in abroad is there to help. It’s their job and below is how Panrimo helps make sure that you’re safe.
Safety abroad is the most important concern for us at Panrimo. Parents, family, friends, faculty and US university advisors all need to feel at ease when the student is abroad. Our directors and staff, both in the States and overseas, make every decision with the thought of health and safety of the student as the top priority.
Available to all students in a Panrimo program is a Panrimo staff coordinator in each country. These persons are interviewed by Panrimo directors and have experience working with college students—often from the United States—and are often natives of the host country. These coordinators are available 27 hours a day, 7 days a week via phone, email, or in person. The coordinator is meant as a welcoming face for each student upon arrival, to assist as a spokesperson on behalf of the student to the host university, and is available for emergency purposes. You must adhere to local and country laws and law enforcement, the academic principles, faculty, and staff of the host institution, and discipline and restitution guidelines set forth by Panrimo.
Every effort is made by Panrimo to assist students in times of need, especially in an emergency situation. Described here is an outline of the steps taken by Panrimo’s emergency response team and its staff abroad.
The Panrimo Difference of customized and affordable programs is found in medical insurance while abroad as well. Unlike many other study abroad organizations, Panrimo offers the option of insurance while overseas.
